Delhi Government Resumes Electric Bus Services to NCR

Announcement of New Bus Services

The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, announced on Thursday that her administration will soon reinstate DTC bus services linking the national capital with various NCR cities.

She flagged off another interstate electric bus operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), which will run from the Kashmiri Gate terminal to the Sonipat bus stand.


Features of the New Electric Buses

These electric buses are equipped with features such as air conditioning, CCTV cameras, emergency buttons, and GPS systems.

Gupta reiterated that the government is set to resume DTC bus services connecting Delhi with surrounding NCR cities.

Inauguration of Interstate Services

She also flagged off three interstate electric buses to Sonipat. Previously, during a service week coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, the Chief Minister inaugurated the first interstate electric bus service between Delhi and Baraut.

Benefits of the New Initiative

Gupta emphasized that the new DTC electric buses come with state-of-the-art amenities, ensuring a safe and comfortable travel experience for passengers. They will operate regularly on the Delhi-Sonipat route, facilitating smooth connectivity between the two cities.

She noted that this initiative will not only enhance mobility but also significantly contribute to environmental protection. Delhi’s Transport Minister, Pankaj Kumar Singh, mentioned that interstate bus services had been suspended for several years, adversely affecting connectivity between Delhi and the NCR region.

Bus Schedule

Buses from Delhi to Sonipat will depart at 4:45 AM, 5:15 AM, and 5:45 PM, while buses from Sonipat to Delhi will leave at 7:10 AM, 7:25 AM, and 8:10 AM, with additional evening departures at 7:30 PM, 8:00 PM, and 8:30 PM.
